The Santa Fe Public Library, Office of Economic Development, and Creative Startups Launch a New Series to Support Local Business Owners
The Santa Fe Public Library, in collaboration with the Santa Fe Office of Economic Development and Creative Startups, is launching Books Behind the Business—a new event series where local business owners and social enterprise leaders share the books that have inspired and shaped their work.
The first event in the series will take place on today, Tuesday, April 22nd, at 6:00 PM at the Southside Public Library, featuring two creative local leaders:
Lauren Cason, co-founder of Refract Studio, will discuss The Power of Myth by Joseph Campbell and how storytelling, myth, and meaning influence her work across art, design, and technology.
Jerome Morrison, Experience Designer and co-founder of 505omatic, will discuss Immersion: The Science of the Extraordinary and the Source of Happiness by Paul J. Zak and will share how books have helped guide his creative and professional journey.
Books Behind the Business is a new discussion series that invites local entrepreneurs, business owners, and social enterprise leaders to share the books that shaped their journeys. Each session will feature 2 guest speakers discussing a book that influenced their leadership, strategy, or innovation. Hosted at the Southside Santa Fe Public Library, this bi-monthly gathering fosters engaging conversations, fresh perspectives, and meaningful connections within Santa Fe’s business community. Whether you're running a business, launching a new venture, or looking to grow your network, come exchange insights, gain inspiration, and discover valuable resources to support your success.
First Event: Tuesday, April 22nd, 6:00 PM at the Southside Public Library
Ongoing: Every other month on the fourth Wednesday Spanish interpretation is available.
“Santa Fe’s libraries are more than just places to check out books—they’re places where people come together to learn, grow, and support one another,” said Mayor Alan Webber. “This series will be a great resource for Santa Fe’s creative and business-minded residents.”
This is just the beginning—more events and resources to support your ideas, projects, and businesses are on the way.
