Creative Experience 2022— A Gathering for Immersive, Tech, Experience, Art, and Entertainment Leaders
Creative Startups launches Creative Experience Santa Fe, a 3-Day Festival Bringing Together the Weird and Wonderful in the Creative Economy
Creative Startups announces a first-of-its-kind conference, Creative Experience 2022 (CxSF), taking place March 25-27 in Santa Fe’s burgeoning arts district. Centering around the theme “Defying our Destiny— Transforming our Creative Future,” Creative Experience aims to shape the next generation of immersive and experiential art, tech, and science, connecting a global community of creators seeking solutions to problems that matter.
CxSF features over 50 exhibits and panels, spotlighting experts such as Meow Wolf co-founder, Sean Di lanni; Two Bit Circus CEO, Brent Bushnell; Museum of Ice Cream Co-founder, Manish Vora; and Intelligent Mischief Artistic Director, Aisha Shillingford. CxSF panelists, performers, and speakers will cover topics such as the future of AR/VR/the Metaverse, the transformative experience of immersive museums and performances, NFT’s as tools for equitable wealth, compelling storytelling, revolutionary capital structures and more. Attendees will explore Santa Fe’s Railyard, creating collective art pieces and altars and taking part in creator-led tech experiences, dance parties, immersive art explorations, feasts, tarot readings— and panels with neuroscientists, astronauts, artists, investors, and more.
“It is incredibly important to our team to start conversations and build businesses that promote positive change: change for women, BIPOC entrepreneurs, Venture Capital, and wonderfully weird creatives. To that end, we are building a conference unlike any others,” said Shuangyi Li, Director of Strategic Development for Creative Startups.
While many conferences feature one aspect of the creative economy (e.g. VR, storytelling, science, art), CxSF will break down walls between genres and disciplines, guided by a vision of the future in which all people are celebrated as creative. By bringing together creators and composers, scientists and storytellers, investors, inventors, artists, actors, entrepreneurs, CxSF aims to prove that pigeonholing creatives into separate practices impedes innovation and that solutions to world problems come from human connection and community.
Each year, Creative Experience will converge in a new creative hotspot. Santa Fe was chosen as the inaugural location because of its rapidly growing creative and creator economy. Arts and culture account for one in ten jobs in Santa Fe, according to UNESCO’s Creative City Network. Many of Santa Fe’s creative businesses have garnered national attention, such as the immersive art collective Meow Wolf. Santa Fe has also seen a burst in production and film creativity after Netflix invested $1 billion in New Mexico studios. It’s also the city Creative Startups calls home, as there is no better space to launch an ambitious endeavor than your own backyard.
“Santa Fe has always been a hotbed of creativity,” said Alice Loy, CEO of Creative Startups. “For over 100 years, dreamers, creators, and visionaries have come to New Mexico for inspiration. You can see this in the works of artists like Georgia O’Keeffe. A mixture of cultures and centuries old traditions, New Mexico’s spectacular natural beauty and the burgeoning immersive economy create fertile ground for artists to take risks and try new things, like George R.R. Martin’s new Sky Railway. We couldn’t imagine hosting the inaugural Creative Experience gathering anywhere else.”
